This is an illustration process of a camera aperture done with Adobe Illustrator. As you can see from the image above, it mostly consists of rotating circles in a spiral motion. Use the shape builder tool to combine shapes into the spiral form. Then, take away the excess lines outside of the outer circle, and you have the basic outline of an aperture. All that’s left to do is add colors and details. Et voilà, a camera aperture!
Coffee, tea, milk, orange juice, wine, and cocktail. Common beverages we all love to drink. This is an illustrative series of beverages that I recently created. I have a doodle of a coffee cup on an old styrofoam coffee cup that I drew on, years ago. I thought I’d make a digital illustration of it in Adobe Illustrator for fun. After finishing the coffee cup, I thought, maybe I could use it as a template to make another beverage. Hence came the green tea. I was amazed by how just changing the colors and the background could make such a difference.
This inspired me to make more illustrations of other common beverages, using the same concepts. This time, the milk and orange juice are in glass cups. This was a new challenge, for drawing glass requires transparency. I had fun fiddling around with colors, opacities, and filters.
My last two pieces are of alcoholic drinks, more specifically, wine and cocktail. As you can see, these two don’t have the same concept as the other pieces — the same container with different colors. This is because wine and cocktail use different glassware. However, I did try to keep it consistent by keeping the similar bowl shape as well as color gradients.
I hope you enjoy these illustrations as much as I had fun making them. I look forward to creating more illustrative series to share them with you in the future!

The worst pain one can experience in life is a heartbreak. No matter how much you love someone, it is not guaranteed that they will share that same love with you. It’s easy to get yourself attached to someone or something, but it can be crazy hard to get yourself unattached after losing them.
Though with all the damage done to your heart, and you are still living and breathing, then that’s all that matters. There is always hope for better days ahead.
It’s a new year, which means new beginnings and resolutions! One of my resolutions this year is to be happier and not let little things bring down my motivation. I’m feeling hopeful for a good year ahead for me, as well as for all my loved ones.
The ladybug is believed to be a symbol of good fortune and prosperity, and that is what I wish for to everyone throughout the year. Remember to count your blessings and show your gratitude, for it will attract more good vibes into your life.
Thank you for visiting, and I hope you have a fantastic 2018!
Here’s a look at the wine labels I’ve made this year. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed designing wine labels for Genevieve Wine. I’m not a person who likes to drink alcohol, but I do love to look at the label and bottle designs! It has always been my dream to work with clients in the wine business, so I’m very pleased to be able to design wine labels for someone.
May the coming Winter months be filled with warmth and joy to everyone. Spread cheer and kindness to those around you. Spend time with those whom you love, and even more time with those who love you, because we’re never sure when we’ll run out of time with the near and dear. Be good and do good. Happy Holidays everyone!
